This study programme is aimed at the study of the fundamental aspects of physics and astronomy and aspires to train physicists and astronomers through the balanced combination of courses. Students are familiarised with the analysis, design and optimisation of existing and new conceptual models. In doing so, implementing simplifications in order to arrive at usable descriptions is essential.
Holders of an appropriate Belgian academic bachelor degree, Holders of a foreign university bachelor degree or higher education bachelor diploma: bachelor of minimum 3 years, In some cases applicants cannot be admitted directly to a master programme, but have to do a specific preparatory or linking course (between 45 and 90 ECTS credits) first, depending on their previous studies, English Language Requirement:TOEFL-TEST with a score of 510-559 (paper-based), or 72-94 (internet-based) or higher, IELTS with a minimum overall band score of 6.0, B2-certificate ITACE for students (Interuniversity test of academic English), awarded by the Ghent University Language Centre, B2-certificate from a university language centre, Final test certificate from the course Practical English 5 or English for Written Academic Purposes awarded by the UCT, Certificate B2 First, Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a score of 59-75
