The objective of the Postgraduate Program in Archeology is to produce knowledge about the human past, as well as enable the acquisition of in-depth knowledge in the area of Archeology, training researchers and teachers able to act without distinction: in the investigation of humanity's remote and recent past, and, more particularly, of the different cultures that occupied what is today the territory of the Brazilian nation; the preservation of the nation's archaeological resource base, within the framework of the impacts produced on this heritage by developmental enterprises in both rural and urban areas, in the light of archaeological and environmental legislation; and the transmission of knowledge at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Completed Electronic form; Letter of introduction issued by the Brazilian Diplomatic Mission after approval by Celpe-Bras; Birth or Marriage Certificate (original and copy); School record and Certificate of Completion of Bachelor degree or equivalent: original and translated (if not in Portuguese); Registration Agreement Term (TCM) and Financial Responsibility Term (TRF): Originals in 2 copies of each term with issue date less than 3 months from the date of registration at UFRJ; Statement by the source of scholarship or school credit of the Government of your country, indicating the amounts and duration of the benefit(original and copy); Physical and mental health certificate issued in the last 90 days; Certificate of approval at Celpe-Bras, when applicable (original and copy); Passport (original and copy); Updated student visa (VITEM-IV) (original and copy); Proof or protocol of registration in the Register of Individuals (CPF); 2 photos size 3x4 cm.
