Carleton s MA program is unique in Canada in its unrivalled ability to combine classroom work with on-site training at national museums and related institutions. Our program focuses on visual culture and critical approaches, including the study of art s institutional contexts and engaging the dynamic nature of art history at the turn of the 21st century. The MA in Art History encourages students to access the wealth of cultural resources in the National Capital Region, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and Library and Archives Canada.
