Program Overview

The Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling (MEd-GC) Program is primarily for experienced teachers who wish to specialize in guidance and counselling in schools. This program provides students with the basic preparation for certification as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). This program does not fulfill the requirements for registration with the Transitional Council of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Additional Information & Requirements

An appropriate bachelor s degree. Typically a 4 year program (20 full-year course equivalents), of any background or discipline, with a grade equivalent to a University of Toronto B+ or better in the final year, from a recognized university, GPA of B+, TOEFL ibT of 93 with 22 in writing and speaking, MELAB of 85, IELTS of 7.0 (Academic)with at least 6.5 for each component, COPE of 76 (with at least 22 in each component and 32 in the writing component), International ESL Program- a final grade of B in Level 60, Academic transcripts, 2 Recommendation letters, CV, Statement of Intent
