Program Overview

Slavic Studies examines the languages, literatures and cultures of the eastern, central-eastern and south-eastern European linguistic communities. In addition to Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine, this encompasses Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Balkans, including the states of the former Yugoslavia. The Graduate Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures offers instruction leading to two degrees Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in one of the broadest ranges of Slavic languages and literatures available in a North American university.
