Program Overview

The MSc program has two options. The research-based program consists of graduate courses and a thesis. A full-time student is expected to complete the degree requirements in two years. The course-based program is an intensive three semester (one-year) program based on graduate courses and a project. This program accepts new students only in the Fall semester. The MAS is a highly structured program incorporating both courses and practicum (an applied statistics project). A full-time student with an honours degree in statistics normally requires two years to complete the degree requirements. This program accepts new students only in the Fall semester.

MAS Bachelor's degree (minimum second class) in an appropriate area of study. MSc Bachelor's degree (minimum second class) in an appropriate area of study. IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. TOEFL: A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, or 79 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.
