Program Overview

The Master of Education, Counselling and Psychotherapy, is a course-based professional development program providing the theoretical and practical skillsets for licensure as a registered psychotherapist in a variety of settings, such as non-profit agencies, post-secondary schools, mental health centres and private practice. The MEd in Counselling Psychology - Counselling and Psychotherapy is a recognized education and training program in psychotherapy by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Please see the CRPO website for additional information regarding registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists. The program of study provides students with the basic preparation for certification as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Additional Information & Requirements

An appropriate bachelor s degree. This is typically a 4 year (20 full-year course equivalent) program, of any background or discipline, with a grade equivalent to a University of Toronto B+ or better in the final year, from a recognized university, GPA of B+, TOEFL ibT of 93 with 22 in writing and speaking, MELAB of 85, IELTS of 7.0 (Academic)with at least 6.5 for each component, COPE of 76 (with at least 22 in each component and 32 in the writing component), International ESL Program- a final grade of B in Level 60, Academic transcripts, 2 Recommendation letters, CV, Statement of Intent
