The focus of the School is the Masters in Public Policy (MPP) program. This is a two-year, full-time, cohort-based program involving 55-60 first and second year students. The intake of new students is approximately 30 per year. The first two semesters of the program consists of core courses in political science, economics, quantitative and qualitative methods, and public policy analysis. All students then complete a Co-op workterm in the summer semester. This is a nationally accredited Co-op program, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Co-op Education program. The final two semesters of the program are comprised of a major policy research project the capstone, and elective courses in a wide variety of policy fields that students take from the School or other graduate departments at SFU or UBC (through the Western Deans Agreement).
A 4-year bachelor s degree with a minimum overall grade of B, First Class or First Division in all degrees, GPA of 3.0 (on a scale of 0.0-4.33) or the equivalent, First Class or First Division in all degrees, TOEFL ibT of 93 with minimum of 20 in each category, IELTS of overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section, CV, letter of references, statement of interest, transcripts
