Software systems increasingly form the background of most human activities, thus increasing the emphasis on the quality of their design, development, testing, deployment and operation. Software engineering brings together skills, techniques and tools to systematically support these activities with an emphasis on the guaranteed quality of the resulting software system. The goal of the study program is to increase students' competencies in the areas of software engineering, including understanding the deeper contexts needed when working on large-scale software projects, where individual decisions within software development have a critical impact on the quality and viability of the resulting system and the services it provides
