Program Overview

The study program prepares Czech language and literature teachers for the second grade of elementary schools and the corresponding grade of multi-year grammar schools. As part of this qualification, the graduate acquires a specialization for working with pupils with a different mother tongue. In the course of his studies, he familiarizes himself with the history of Czech and world literature, including literature for children and young people, in addition to the relationship between literature and religion or the sociology of reading. They learn to understand and explain various linguistic phenomena as a result of language development and to be aware of the specificity of the Czech language in communication with a foreigner.
