Program Overview

The study program is aimed at educating experts in the field of evaluation, use and protection of soils and related natural resources. Graduates will acquire both theoretical knowledge and skills in solving practical tasks. Attention is paid to the assessment and mapping of soil properties, the assessment of the threat and degradation of soils due to erosion or contamination by substances used in agriculture, industry or as a result of atmospheric deposition, urbanization, etc. Students are introduced to advanced methods used in the analysis of physical and chemical properties of soils, modern approaches such as soil spectroscopy and magnetic mapping for indirect assessment of soil properties and the latest experimental and mathematical methods for assessing the spread of contaminants not only in the soil environment.
