Program Overview

The goal is to educate independent graduates who are oriented in the dynamically developing fields of molecular biology and genetics and are capable of independent scientific work and the processing and presentation of its results. The program is implemented at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in close cooperation with the institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The scientific activity of the department focuses on the characterization of biological processes at the level of the cell and the whole organism in various model and non-model organisms. Students are trained in modern molecular methods from the beginning of their studies and participate in research projects that focus, for example, on the functional characterization of genes, the study of biodiversity or the evolution of the genome.
