Program Overview

The Zoology study program provides education primarily in ecological, evolutionary-biological and physiological disciplines with a focus on various aspects of animal biology (a specific feature of zoology studies at P F JU is close cooperation with the archaeological department of FF JU). The assigned topics of diploma theses also extend into the practical areas of nature protection. Depending on their specialization, students will acquire the necessary basic knowledge from advanced biostatistical, molecular-genetic, biochemical and phylogenetic disciplines. Emphasis is placed especially on independent management of scientific work. Elaboration of the diploma thesis is a key part of the subsequent master's studies, and is therefore highly credit-evaluated.
