Program Overview

You will deepen your knowledge of the literary heritage of the Mediterranean . You will observe how the literary and cultural legacy of antiquity manifested itself in other periods, especially in the European territory of the Roman Empire. Your knowledge will also expand, especially in Arabic literature and the influences of Arab culture in the Mediterranean. This will give you a better understanding of the continuity between antiquity, the early Middle Ages and the further development of the region. As students of literary studies, you will also get to know the most important literary theories , which you will then use when interpreting specific literary texts.
