Program Overview

As part of the study plan, already existing factual and theoretical knowledge is deepened and expanded. Cultural phenomena, social norms, conventions, customs, values, religious ideas, symbols are identified and interpreted in the broader historical context of the twentieth and especially the twenty-first century. Great emphasis is placed on discussing various methodological issues and theories and on reflecting on the current state of the relevant disciplines. Mandatory optional subjects of the profiling foundation allow you to pursue a deeper knowledge in one of the three subject areas, Islamic studies, Jewish studies and studies of the religions of the ancient Near East. An integral part of the program is logically the teaching of optional languages, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Akkadian.
