Program Overview

This master responds to the need to train a new generation of geoscientists capable of quantitatively understanding the functioning and evolution of the Earth system, a complex system of solid and fluid envelopes interacting on various temporal and spatial scales. The fundamental knowledge issues concern in particular the interfaces and exchanges of matter and energy between these envelopes. They are coupled with major societal challenges ranging from natural hazards (earthquakes, floods, cyclones, space weather) to climate change, including resources (water, energy, minerals) or pollution (soil, water , atmosphere).
