Program Overview

The master's program in International Organizations and Crisis Managementis the only program in Germany and one of the few in Europe that focuses on the following three areas. First, you get to know the goals, tasks, structures, cultures and norms of international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Second, you will become familiar with the possibilities and limits of international crisis management, by which we mean pacifying violent conflicts, but also dealing with pandemics, migration flows, natural disasters or financial crises. Thirdly, we address whether and how international organizations (together with states and other actors) can cope with these crises, which effectiveness and legitimacy problems arise and how international organizations sometimes get themselves into crisis.
