Program Overview

The aim of the master's program Historical Musicology is the in-depth knowledge of European-Western music history and the ability to deal scientifically with music-historical issues. The students gain a sound, structured overview of the entire history of music and acquire, depending on their inclination, particular expertise for one of the four main historical sections Music in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance , Music History with a Focus on Music in the Early Modern Period , Music of the Classical and 19th Century or Music of Modernity and Postmodernism .
