Program Overview

The LuM master's degree program provides graduates of the degree programs listed under subject combinations in a four-semester course with a combination of in-depth knowledge of the current literature and media system as well as practical skills and abilities for the development of literature and culture-related projects, especially in the areas of print and AV, but also digital media. The students learn to analyze the various media and their institutions, their structures and functions, and to use the knowledge they have acquired for their own work. There are literature and culture-related productions and programs

Bachelors degree in German Studies in the two-subject Bachelors degree at the University of Duisburg-Essen or an equivalent or comparable degree/subject in the field of humanities, overall grade of the degree must usually be at least 1.8 or better, Proficiency in English Language Requirements: TOEFL pBT min 500 points, cBT min 200 points, or iBT, min 80 points, IELTS test with a score of at least 6.0, Cambridge B2 First Certificate, formerly known as Cambridge English: First FCE, Foreign applicants are required to provide evidence of German proficiency to DSH 2 level, evidence of your proficiency in German:German language test for entrance to higher education with an overall level of at least DSH 2, German language diploma level II of the KMK Standing Conference DSD II, telc C1 Hochschule certificate with an overall of ausreichend or higher, TestDaF certificate in ALL subsections to level TDN 4 or higher, Zentrale Oberstufenpr fung ZOP certificate from the Goethe Institute, Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom and/or Gro es Deutsches Sprachdiplom, Successful completion of the Studienkolleg assessment test
