Program Overview

The subjects of the English and American Studies master's course are the English language, its description and analysis in the context of current research, as well as the research-related investigation of Anglophone literatures and cultures from the Middle Ages to the present day. The course offers extensive freedom of choice. The subject can be studied in all its breadth, but there are also opportunities to specialize in the areas of linguistics or literary and cultural studies. One focus is on the demanding practical language training, which requires a high level of foreign language skills right from the start of the course.
