Program Overview

The master's program in ethnology offers research-oriented training that deals empirically with human culture in general and the individual cultures of different regions of the world in particular. The basic requirement is to want to explain culture in all places and at all times. By concentrating on the Cologne research focus areas of economic ethnology, social ethnology and cultural ecology, the ethnological foundations acquired in the Bachelor's degree are deepened and expanded. Regular field research internships offer the opportunity to deepen existing methodological knowledge
