Program Overview

The European Master in Classical Cultures is an international masters course in classical studies. The students complete this interdisciplinary study at at least two different universities (maximum three). Graduates acquire the title of master of those universities where they have studied and the corresponding coursework. Twelve universities from nine countries (Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Austria, Spain, Poland, Turkey and Cyprus) are involved in the development of the program. The core area covers the three disciplines Ancient History, Classical Philology and Archeology.

A professionally relevant first professional qualifying university degree, ie a study in the field of Ancient History, Classical Archeology or Classical Philology, Knowledge of German (when studying in Hamburg), Knowledge of two other modern languages (including at least one official language of one of the partner universities), Proof of (old) Greek or Latin knowledge, CV, Transcript of records, sufficient knowledge of German, TOEFL ibT of 92, IELTS of 6.5, C1 Advanced of 180
