Program Overview

The focus of Indo-European Studies is the history of the language.The course provides in-depth knowledge in the field of historical-comparative linguistics. During the course of your studies you will critically examine both traditional and modern linguistic approaches to describing and explaining linguistic patterns. In addition, you will deal with various Indo-European languages in several language modules. You can apply the knowledge gained in this way empirically and in an interdisciplinary manner by analyzing various text corpora. In selected elective modules, you have the opportunity to design your studies individually.
