Program Overview

The International Master's Program in Korean Studies serves to deepen already acquired linguistic, professional and methodological knowledge of Korean Studies. The main topics of the Hamburg Master's program are reflected in the compulsory modules Literature and Media as well as Cultural and Intellectual History . They are directly related to the main research areas of the Faculty (Mediality, Culture and Technology) as well as the work area Korean Studies (modern intellectual history of Korea, contemporary cultures of East Asia and North Korea Studies). In addition, the compulsory module Themes and Methods of East Asian International Studies , which deals with the latest research results, provides students with direct access to current discussions in international science.

A first professional qualification of a German or foreign university in the International Bachelor's Program East Asia / Korean Studies or an equivalent subject, Proof of Korean language skills (not native speakers), CV, Transcript of records, TOEFL ibT of 92, C1 Advanced of 180 , letter of motivation, English skills , IELTS of 6.5
