The Japanology in Hamburg has a long tradition - after all, it is the oldest institution in Germany that deals scientifically with Japan. The master's program Japanology is research-oriented, but at the same time conveys skills related to application and work. Japanese Studies is the Japanese-based science of ancient and contemporary Japanese culture. Your Master's degree course is designed to enable independent scientific work with Japanese primary sources and to deal with scientific questions of history and the present.
