Program Overview

The master's program Slavistics offers the students the opportunity to deal with two Slavic languages or literatures from a linguistic or literary perspective. Languages can be Russian, Polish, Serbo-Croatian, Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or Czech. The first language must already be mastered, the second language can be relearned during studies (or existing knowledge deepened). Central objects of Slavic linguistics are the analysis of structures and functions of the selected Slavic languages in their oral as well as written manifestations. It also takes into account approaches of general language and cognitive science.

A degree in the Bachelor's degree program in Slavic Studies (major or minor) from the University of Hamburg or a first professional qualification with a major or subject in Slavic Studies at another German or foreign university with comparable academic and examinations, CV, Transcript of records, TOEFL ibT of 92, C1 Advanced of 180 , letter of motivation, English skills , IELTS of 6.5
