Program Overview

The master's course in Ancient History, which is supported by the Chair of Ancient History, is designed to be research-oriented and provides in-depth specialist knowledge, skills and methods in the scientific examination of the history of the ancient world and its neighboring cultures; In terms of content, it covers the entire spectrum of the ancient world from early Greek history to late antiquity. The course combines the perspectives of history and ancient studies and provides in-depth knowledge in the interpretation of the different types of sources of ancient history. In addition to independent scientific work, the course also provides space for the practical application of knowledge in an internship or an excursion
