Program Overview

The interdisciplinary master's program Medieval Studies provides comprehensive knowledge of the medieval epoch and forms of work in medieval studies from the perspective of various subjects dealing with the Middle Ages. In particular, the relevance of the age of the Middle Ages for today's society is focused. In the degree program, students can choose from a range of subjects within the scope of an individual focus. Possible are Older German Literature , Medieval History or Medieval Art History as well as Byzantine Studies, Romance Studies, Theology, Pre- and Early Historical Archeology / Medieval or Historical Musicology.

A first academic qualifying university degree from a German or internationally recognized foreign university in the subjects of German Studies, German Language and Literature, German Philology, History or Art History, Knowledge of Latin, CV, Transcript of records, TOEFL ibT of 92, C1 Advanced of 180 , letter of motivation, English skills , IELTS of 6.5
