Program Overview

The Theory and History of Modernity master's degree is carried out in close cooperation with the renowned Hamburg Institute for Social Research offered. As an interdisciplinary research institute, the HIS relies primarily on dialogue between social and cultural science subjects. In addition to topics such as violence and protest or capitalism and its monetary system, the researchers working at the HIS are currently also looking at the history of statehood and democracy and the variability and fluidity of legal practices.
