Program Overview

Biofabrication is an emerging technology in the field of medical engineering. In particular, additive production processes are expected to make important contributions to technological progress in the near term -- and so is biofabrication. The internationally oriented master's programme Biofabrication is interdisciplinary in nature, representing an engineering curriculum at the intersection of technology, chemistry, materials science, biology, and medicine. We offer you the opportunity to work in a research area at the cutting edge of medical innovation. Students profit from our conveniently located key labs, including those at Bayreuth's Centre for Materials Science and Engineering and at the new Bavarian Polymer Institute.

University degree or completed studies in the Bachelor's programmes requiring 180 ECTS points Materials Science and Engineering or Engineering Science at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, Equivalency of the completed bachelor's degree is the responsibility of the board of examiners, personal interview, Evidence of an industrial internship lasting at least thirteen weeks, to be submitted within one year of enrolment, ENGLISH: level B2, GERMAN: level A1, Applications may already be submitted before completion of the bachelor's degree, Degree and School Leaving Certificates and Transcripts, German language proficiency test for international university applicants DSH with a result of at least DSH 1, Test of German as a foreign language,Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache, TestDaF with a result of at least 14 points - no part under TDN 3, SD Zertifikat B2, Goethe-Zertifikat B2, telc Deutsch B2, B2 certificate IIK Bayreuth, certificate of the internal German language exam of the University of Bayreuth with Result corresponds to the DSH 1 level, English Language requirements: TOEFL 95 points, IELTS Academic minimum score of 6,5, Cambridge Certificate: First Certificate in English FCE, Proof can also be provided by submitting a German Abitur certificate if it certifies an English level of B2.
