MSc in Mathematical Physics

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Hamburg

Program Overview

Mathematics and physics are closely related: on the one hand mathematics provides the methods for the investigation of physical questions, on the other hand, the increasingly complex theories of physics - for example in quantum mechanics or string theory - have an enormous influence on the development of new mathematical theories. The internationally oriented Master's program Mathematical Physics offers an interdisciplinary study in which students can expand their mathematical skills and knowledge and work in a research team. The course can be focused on either the mathematical or the physical aspects. The English-language study program is offered jointly by the Departments of Mathematics and Physics.
