Program Overview

The Master's program in Physics deepens the basic knowledge gained in the bachelor's program and conveys specialist knowledge based on current research questions. The focus is on research methods, independent and responsible action as well as strategic planning of the procedure and the critical classification of scientific findings. The aim of the degree program is the qualification for independent scientific work. In addition, the completion of the Master's program qualifies students to take a doctoral degree. Scientific institutions such as the Center for Optical Quantum Technologies (ZOQ), the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL) and close collaborations such as the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) give students the opportunity to work on current research projects.
