Program Overview

The master program Archeology and Cultural History of the Ancient Mediterranean is socio-anthropological and cultural-historical oriented and deals with the investigation of the material legacies of antiquity between the 3./2. Millennium BC Chr. (Minoan-Mycenaean epoch) and the 6th century AD (late antiquity and early Christianity). The focus is on the analysis and interpretation of the ancient world of life and images. At the end of their studies, graduates have in-depth expertise in the scientific handling of political, social, religious, economic and artistic phenomena of antiquity and their development in modern times.
