MA in Classical archeology

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

University of Jena

Program Overview

The course, which was fundamentally reformed for the winter semester 2016/17, is aimed at graduates of an ancient or cultural bachelor's degree who want to deepen their knowledge of monuments and methods in the field of Greco-Roman archeology. The focus of the training is on the practical training on objects and pictures, which is guaranteed at the Chair of Classical Archeology through the large number of collections connected to it (collection of antique cabaret, academic coin cabinet, cast collection of antique sculptures). Acquiring competencies in methodical and practical handling of objects of material culture is elementary for the immediate professional profile of the archaeologist, but nowadays it is also advantageous for numerous other fields of activity.
