The master's program Sign Language provides detailed linguistic knowledge of the sign language deaf (especially the German Sign Language) and also deals with cultural issues related to the sign language Deaf. As a degree program, the Master Sign Language is unique in the German higher education landscape. The students should be enabled to describe sign language phenomena in their different functions and characteristics in detail, to use empirical methods in a targeted manner and to critically evaluate theoretical concepts. The profile area opens up the possibility to make in this still young discipline own research experience in the guided processing of individual questions.
