Program Overview

The master's program International Criminology deals with issues of social production of norms and normality, deviation and crime, risks and dangers as well as corresponding control technologies and forms of intervention. The focus is on social practices and societal dynamics that can be traced at various levels - from micropolitics of social places and institutions, such as prisons, to global security interventions. The aim of the study is to be able to analyze criminological facts as well as to critically reflect on their production, to conduct independent research and to introduce criminological knowledge into the public discourse.
