Economics - Master of Science

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Osnabrueck University

Program Overview

The special profile of the economics master's program in Economics at the University of Osnabr ck is the combination of a broad-based economics education with the possibility of an individual focus. The specialist areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance, international economic policy, statistics/econometrics and environmental economics offer a wide range of in-depth lectures.Modern economics increasingly uses empirical methods in research. The Department of Economics is particularly well positioned in this area, since the three departments of Macroeconomics, International Economic Policy and Statistics/Econometrics conduct empirical research together and together form the Institute for Empirical Economic Research. With a focus on Empirical Economics, we offer students research-based teaching in which they acquire a strong methodological foundation in the fields of statistics and econometrics on the one hand, and receive application-oriented training on the other hand, in which various economic policy issues are addressed. A special feature is that students also work empirically independently and make estimates, e.g. B. as part of a larger project seminar.
