Program Overview

A subject-based core curriculum in the first two semesters forms the basis of this course. The modules focus on the thematization of structures of social differentiation, the importance of the cultural dimension for their reproduction orTransformation, variants of capitalism and the transformation of welfare state regimes as well as the analysis of the organization of social work. In the second year of study, students can expand their thematic profile based on the wide range of electives (particularly from the other master's programs in the department) to include political science, European and migration topics. The mandatory research seminar offers the opportunity to carry out smaller research projects and at the same time prepares you for the master's thesis.
