MSc in Urban Design - Revitalization of Historic City Districts

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Brandenburg University of Technology

Program Overview

The development of historically shaped cities still represents one of the most important challenges for sustainable urbanization in Europe and the MENA regions. A lively inner city with a historical core forms the image of the city and creates identity among the locals. It is the starting point for development throughout the city. The renewal of inner-city areas not only has positive effects for the immediate residents and stakeholders, but also has an impact on the surrounding area and the entire city. Accordingly, nothing is more sustainable in urban development than a vital inner city. This assumption applies to shrinking cities in Germany as well as to the metropolises of the MENA region.
