All doctoral students have to attend seminars within the normative study years and take four to six courses. If the Division deems it necessary, some students may be required to take a course on a language other than English and Chinese and meet any further requirements laid down by the Division.

Applicants should preferably have majored or taken courses in Chinese language, Chinese literature or related fields. If deemed necessary, the Division may invite applicants to attend an interview and submit a personal statement in Chinese. Obtained a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.TOEFL: 550(Paper Based)/79 ( Internet Based), IELTS(Academic):6.5, GMAT(Verbal): Band 21.
