This programme is designed to provide both professional and academic training about journalism to people from a wide variety of background. Students graduating from universities not majoring in journalism and communication who nonetheless are interested in a career in journalism could learn the basic techniques and knowledge in the field. Working journalists and/or professionals from other occupations who need to deal with the media could benefit from the intellectual training so as to deepen their understanding of journalism.
Possess a pass grade in English in one of the following examinations: Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (AS Level), Hong Kong Higher Level Examination, CUHK Matriculation Examination, General Certificate of Education A-Level/AS-Level; or achieve Level 4 or above in the English subject of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) examination; or have a degree from a university in Hong Kong or have taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English; or submit a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (or computer-based of 213 or above, or internet-based score of 79) or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.
