Program Overview

This one-year Postgraduate Diploma is designed to prepare you for a career in modern software development by combining core programming skills with cloud computing and DevOps practices. Curriculum Structure

Year 1 — Building Strong Computing Foundations:
In the first semester, you will develop essential programming and system knowledge through modules such as Programming, where you learn object-oriented development using Java, and Databases, which focuses on relational database design and SQL. You will also study Computing Architecture and Operating Systems to understand how software interacts with hardware, alongside Algorithmics and Logical Methods to strengthen analytical and problem-solving skills. These foundations are complemented by Cloud Web Application Development, where you begin building web applications using modern development tools.

Semester 2 — Moving into Cloud and DevOps Practice:
The second semester focuses on applying your skills in real-world contexts. In Full Stack Application Development, you design and build scalable web applications using contemporary frameworks, while Fundamentals of Cloud Computing introduces cloud platforms and service models. You will also study Cloud DevOps, gaining experience with continuous integration, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure automation, and Modern Software Engineering, which emphasises Agile methods, teamwork, and professional software development practices.

Industry Experience or Capstone Project:
At the end of the program, you will complete either an industry internship placement or a capstone group project, allowing you to apply your technical skills to real industry or research-based challenges.
