The MEngSc in Robotics & Intelligent Manufacturing at University College Dublin is an intensive, one-year master’s program that equips you with advanced skills in robotics, automation, and smart manufacturing systems, preparing you for careers in modern industry. Curriculum Structure
Year of Study
Since this is a one-year postgraduate program, the study is structured across trimesters with a major project at the end.
In the Autumn and Spring trimesters, you will focus on core engineering and automation modules such as Introduction to Robotics, Control Theory, and Machine Learning for Engineers. These modules provide hands-on experience with robotics systems and data-driven tools. You will also study Supply Chain Design and Analysis and Engineering Project Management, building your ability to design and optimize complex manufacturing workflows and lead technical teams.
During the Summer Project phase, you will complete a 30-credit Applied Robotics Research Project, collaborating with industry partners to apply your knowledge and solve real manufacturing challenges under expert supervision.
