Health informatics is a multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional field. This field focuses on the creation, modelling, management and sharing of health data and knowledge to support data analysis and timely decision making in medicine and health care together with the information science and technology to support these tasks. It is not solely a technical discipline but focuses on the relationship between the technology and its use in real-world settings i.e. solutions are designed in context, taking into account the social, cultural and organisational settings in which computing and information technology will be used in health care sectors.
A Health Care Administrator/Clerical Officer, Health Care Manager or Health Care Professional who holds a primary undergraduate degree (2.2 honours or higher) OR An applicant who holds a primary undergraduate degree (2.2 honours or higher) in a health sciences discipline OR An IT specialist who holds a primary undergraduate degree (2.2 honours or higher) with experience of working in a health care setting. OR An applicant with at least 5 years relevant work experience who can satisfy the course admission team that he/she has the ability to complete and benefit from this course. Such applicants shall be required to undertake an interview. IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any component. Qualification transcripts and certificates.
