Being conceived more than thirty years ago, the role of the management engineer has been perceived as an engineer of change and innovation.This role is similar to the classical engineer, being responsible of designing and managing systems, which complexity is due to the human element and the close interaction between technological, economic, organisational and financial variables.The management engineering course project was inspired by a new professional profile - the engineer-manager that was translated into a clearly defined and consistent university curriculum.
