MSc Educational and rehabilitative interventions assisted with animals

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Catholic University of the Sacred Heart

Program Overview

The use of animals is today a sector of pedagogical and rehabilitative intervention of crucial importance for many operators working for the health and well-being of individuals affected by different pathologies. More and more often it is required in educational, health, welfare and socio-educational facilities, the implementation of education programs and habilitation-assisted rehabilitation with animals, as an alternative to traditional techniques and therapies, which sometimes fail to overcome the person's communication barriers. In these cases, the intervention of animals turns out to be a tool of proven effectiveness in the helping relationship, as motivating, engaging and demedicalizing.
