Msc Operations Management and Logistics

2 Years On Campus Masters Program

Eindhoven University of Technology

Program Overview

The MSc Operations Management and Logistics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) prepares students to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of organisations by combining operations management, logistics, data analytics, and engineering approaches. The programme is ideal for students who want to design smarter processes, optimise supply chains, and develop innovative solutions for complex operational challenges across industries.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1

In the first year, students build a strong foundation in operations management and logistics by learning how organisations plan, control, and improve their operational activities. Students explore key areas such as Operations Planning and Control, Supply Chain Management, and Data Science / Artificial Intelligence, developing the analytical and managerial skills required to optimise business processes and supply networks.

Students also deepen their knowledge through specialised courses related to areas such as quality management, service engineering, human performance management, and operational decision-making. Through a combination of theory, modelling techniques, and applied assignments, students learn how to analyse operational problems and design effective solutions.

Year 2

The second year focuses on applying advanced knowledge through specialisation, research projects, and independent study. Students can tailor their learning through different areas such as Supply Chain Management, Smart Services, or Analytics for Transport and Mobility, depending on their career interests.

Students complete a Master’s Thesis, where they investigate a real operations management or logistics challenge using research methods and analytical approaches. This allows students to apply their knowledge to industry-relevant problems and develop solutions that improve operational performance.

Focus Areas

The programme focuses on:

  • Operations planning and control
  • Supply chain management
  • Logistics optimisation
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Quality management
  • Service engineering
  • Artificial intelligence and analytics applications
  • Process improvement and operational performance

Learning Outcomes

Graduates develop the ability to analyse, redesign, and improve operational systems by applying engineering methods, analytical techniques, and management principles. Students gain the skills to optimise processes, manage supply chains, use data-driven approaches, and make strategic decisions that improve organisational performance.
