Program Overview

The specialization Conflict management, jurisprudence and mediation is unique in the Netherlands. The specialization aims to broaden students' horizons by placing the meaning of law and legal procedures in the broader context of how conflicts are prevented, contained and resolved in society. This not only involves acquiring knowledge, but also the development of broad professional skills. In the specialization the major legal areas of private law, criminal law and administrative law are represented.

A Bachelor s degree from an accredited research university including at least three full years of academic study amounting to a minimum of 180 EC or equivalent, Curriculum Vitae, 2 Letters of recommendation, Letter of Motivation, Diploma(s), Transcript of records, IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL internet-based test: 92, Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): grade A, B or C, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): grade A, B or C, State Examination Dutch as a second language, programme II (NT2-II), VU-NT2 Department, CNaVT Certificate.
