Program Overview

The specialization Jurist en Overheid is about the legal role of the government in society and your role as a lawyer. You learn to approach current social issues from a legal perspective and you learn how the government can solve these issues through legislation or regulation. The special role of the government is central. During your studies you will thoroughly study the various aspects of constitutional and administrative law, such as drafting legislation, the effect of fundamental rights and the influence of the European Union on our national legal system. You also learn how to litigate against the government and when the government is responsible for incorrect decisions.
