Program Overview

How can we better identify criminals and put them on the right track In the Master's program in Criminology at the VU you learn how to use criminological knowledge for the prevention and combating of crime. The program is pre-eminently perpetrator-oriented. You can focus on the detection of criminals (Investigative criminology) or the termination of criminal careers (Intervention Criminology). The Master of Criminology thus offers a thorough preparation for two domains of the labor market for criminologists: that of police and security and that of behavioral interventions and the offender-oriented approach .

A Bachelor s degree from an accredited research university including at least three full years of academic study amounting to a minimum of 180 EC or equivalent, Curriculum Vitae, 2 Letters of recommendation, Letter of Motivation, Diploma(s), Transcript of records, IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL internet-based test: 92, Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): grade A, B or C, Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): grade A, B or C, State Examination Dutch as a second language, programme II (NT2-II), VU-NT2 Department, CNaVT Certificate.
